About the Workshop

This EMBO Workshop will cover cutting-edge research in various fields of archaeal biology. Sessions are devoted to:

  • Archaeal Metabolism
  • Phylogeny and New Lineages
  • DNA Replication and Repair
  • Archaeal Cell Biology
  • Archaeal Viruses and Mobile Genetic Elements
  • Transcription
  • RNA Processing
  • Regulatory RNAs, Archaeal Physiology and Evolution.

The speakers include world-leading senior scientists as well as young group leaders (see Programme). In addition, 26 speakers will be selected from the submitted abstracts, and, thus, a broad spectrum of newest and unpublished results will be presented, including the very fast-moving fields of archaeal cell biology and evolution. In addition, two extended poster sessions will give ample time for scientific discussions of results and ideas. Last, but certainly not least, the mixer on the first evening and the conference dinner will provide excellent opportunities for networking and socializing. Make sure not to miss MBoA 2022 in Frankfurt, Germany.

EMBO Courses and Workshops are selected for their excellent scientific quality and timelines, provision of good networking activities for all participants and speaker gender diversity (at least 40% of speakers must be from the underrepresented gender).
