About the Workshop
Cell polarity and membrane dynamics are fundamental principles underlying cell behavior, tissue organization, and organismal development. Recent years have brought about considerable conceptual and technological advances in the fields of cell polarity and membrane dynamics. In vitro reconstitution and single-molecule approaches are enabling the molecular and biophysical dissection of polarity establishment, membrane remodeling, and cytoskeletal regulation with unprecedented precision. At the same time, organoid and tissue models provide physiologically relevant multicellular paradigms. Advances in quantitative imaging, optogenetic/genetic/chemical perturbation strategies, and computational modeling increasingly enable the establishment of direct mechanistic links between molecular-scale events, emergent cellular phenomena, and tissue-level behaviors. This convergence creates a unique opportunity to redefine polarity as a dynamic, multiscale process emerging from feedback between membrane trafficking, cellular mechanics, signaling, and the extracellular environment. This EMBO Workshop on Cell polarity and membrane dynamics will explicitly broaden its scope to include mechanobiology, lipid dynamics, extracellular matrix biology, synthetic and evolutionary biology, and polarity and trafficking in complex tissue contexts. By bringing together a diverse group of researchers working across scales, systems and disciplines, we aim to stimulate conceptual synthesis, highlight emerging directions, and accelerate cross-fertilization of ideas.

About EMBO Courses and Workshops
EMBO Courses and Workshops are selected for their excellent scientific quality and timelines, provision of good networking activities for all participants and speaker gender diversity (at least 40% of speakers must be from the underrepresented gender).
Organisers are encouraged to implement measures to make the meeting environmentally more sustainable.
