About the Workshop

The cytoskeleton, a dynamic and intricate network of protein filaments, is found within the cytoplasm of all cells, from bacteria and archaea to complex eukaryotes. This essential cellular component is not only crucial for giving the cell its shape and providing mechanical resistance to deformation, but it also plays a pivotal role in numerous cell signaling pathways. This dual function places the cytoskeleton at the crossroads of many vital cellular processes, making it fundamental to cell division, movement, and overall cellular organization.
The EMBO Workshop “Structure and Function of the Cytoskeleton” offers a unique opportunity for scientists to collaboratively push the boundaries of cytoskeleton research and explore the field’s diverse facets. The aim of this meeting is to maximize cross-disciplinary dialogue and the exchange of novel ideas. The conference program is structured around 9 intertwined sessions, selected for their distinct focuses and technical approaches, encouraging attendees to broaden their perspectives.
