Payment
Successful applicants will be notified via e-mail regarding the payment for the course participation. This will be a link to the University Medical Center Utrecht Webshop (https://webwinkel.umcutrecht.nl/en/) and requires a credit card.
Selection criteria
As part of the application process, applicants will be asked to describe their research and explain how Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy (CLEM) techniques would benefit their work. The selected cohort will primarily consist of PhD students, early-career postdoctoral researchers, and technical staff, alongside principal investigators (PIs), reflecting the range of career stages represented in previous courses.
We aim to achieve a broad geographical representation, with participants drawn from across the European Union, while also welcoming applications from outside the EU (including, as in previous courses, applicants from the USA, India, and China). We are committed to maintaining gender balance and to fostering diversity by including participants from minority groups who may have had limited access to advanced training in high-technology fields.
Motivation letter guidelines
Applicants are requested to submit a short justification for their application. The justification (maximum 200 words) should explain why the applicant wishes to attend the course and how participation will benefit their current or future research. Applicants should also outline the light and electron microscopy techniques with which they are already familiar, indicating their level of experience with each method. In addition, applicants are asked to describe how they anticipate correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) approaches will significantly enhance or impact their research work.
Applications will be assessed primarily on scientific merit, with particular emphasis placed on the clarity, relevance, and quality of the justification provided.
