How to Reach Oeiras and GIMM
Oeiras is located roughly halfway along the Lisbon–Cascais railway line.
From Lisbon Airport:
- Take the airport shuttle to Cais do Sodré or use the metro: Red Line from the airport → transfer to the Green Line at Alameda → continue to Cais do Sodré
- From Cais do Sodré, take the train toward Cascais (every 20–30 minutes). All trains stop at Oeiras; the journey takes about 20 minutes
- GIMM (Oeiras site) is located near Oeiras station
From Oeiras Train Station to GIMM
Upon exiting the station, walk toward the taxi and bus area across the garden, to the right of the exit.
Continue along this sidewalk for approximately 400 meters to the traffic lights.
Turn left, cross at the pedestrian crossing, and you will reach the main entrance to GIMM.

Sustainability at the meeting
The EMBO Courses & Workshops Programme assesses meetings based on the proposal and implementation of sustainability measures. Meetings can earn points across a range of measures, with each measure assigned a point value from one to five. These points classify the meeting into one of three sustainability levels, reflecting the organizers' commitment to enhancing the sustainability of their event. More information on the EMBO Courses & Workshops Sustainability Badge can be found here.
Abstract book: The workshop program will be shared in electronic form only.
Venue: The venue takes energy efficiency measures and is centrally located with good public transport connections and close to major transport hubs.
