Registration includes:
- accommodation at the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses in double occupancy rooms.
- access to the event sessions
- name badge
- certificate of attendance
- lunches and refreshment breaks
- social events
Meals/refreshments covered by the registration fees are breakfasts at the venue, lunches and refreshments at the venue, welcome drinks and the event dinners as announced on the program.
Travel costs are not covered.
Registraton information
Applications must be accompanied by a short CV, recommendation letter signed by your PI on Institute letterhead and an applicant motivation letter. If one of these items is missing, your application will not be taken into consideration.
Admitted applicants are invited to share their scientific results at the event as a poster, by first submitting an abstract with their application. In addition, several posters will be selected for short talks during the meeting.
Short talks will be 10 mins long.
Payment
More details on registration fee payment will be included in your outcome notification.
Bank charges are the responsibility of the participant and should be paid at source. Your Name, Surname must be indicated on the transaction receipt of the bank transfer.
Payments by bank transfers only – Credit Cards payments are NOT possible.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be submitted via email and is valid only with acknowledgement of receipt by the course organization.
As we do have financial commitments, our Cancellation Policy applied as follows:
For cancellation requests received on or before June 30, 2026, the full payment, less bank charges, will be refunded; for cancellation requests received on and after July 1, 2026, the full amount will be charged and no refunds will be made.
Selection criteria
The total number of course participants including speakers is limited to 100, to facilitate interactions. The target audience is postdoctoral fellows and PhD students.
Applicants needs to provide:
- CV
- Letter of motivation explaining why they are interested in the course
- One short letter of reference from the current supervisor or head laboratory on Institute letterhead
- Abstract
Selection will be based on CVs, submitted abstracts, recommendation and motivation letter; geographical distribution may also be taken into consideration.
A limited number of FEBS Youth Travel Funds (YTF) Awards are available to support participation of early-career scientists in this event. These funds will cover the registration fee (including costs of event meals, and shared accommodation in a twin room) and possibly a contribution towards travel expenses, up to a maximum of 800 EUR per person.
The selection of applicants to receive FEBS YTF awards will be carried out by the Course Organizers on the basis of CV, Abstract and Motivation Letter and approved by the FEBS Treasury Office according to the FEBS YTF eligibility criteria
Abstract guidelines
- Each applicant can submit only one abstract to the event.
- Your abstract title should be short and informative and must not exceed 200 characters.
- Your abstract body should not exceed 350 words (excluding authors and affiliations)
Poster specifications
Posters will be displayed on poster boards in a dedicated area at the venue and should not exceed 100 cm (width) × 140 cm (length).
Travel grants and registration fee waivers
Travel grants and registration fee waivers are available for participants.
Selection of awardees is handled directly by the organizers. EMBO travel grants and registration fee waivers are allocated on the basis of the quality of the submitted abstract.
Applicants do not need to apply separately for these but should indicate on the registration form if they wish to be considered.
Additional travel grants are available for EMBC Associate Member States Chile, India, Singapore and Taiwan.
FEBS Youth Travel Funds (YTF)
A limited number of FEBS Youth Travel Funds (YTF) Awards are available to support participation of early-career scientists in this event. Child care grants
EMBO Courses and Workshops offers grants to offset additional childcare costs incurred by participants or speakers when participating at any EMBO Courses and Workshop funded meeting. Eligible costs include fees for a caregiver or child-care facility, travel costs for a caregiver, or travel costs for taking the child to the meeting etc. Please indicate on the registration form whether you would like to be considered for the grant. Please also describe how you intend to use the childcare grant and specify the sum that you will need.
Accessibility grants
EMBO offers accessibility grants to support participants at EMBO Courses & Workshops with any access needs. These grants cover up to 500 Euros for any additional costs e.g. to adapt the conference environment, or to be accompanied by someone to assist them where necessary.
Participants with access needs may apply for a grant via the registration system of the related EMBO event, or by emailing the organizers of the related EMBO event directly.
