About the Workshop

Only in the last decade have clinicians in India, with support from colleagues from the west, organized to develop multi-centre modern protocols for children with acute leukaemia. These protocols included for the first time genetics and techniques for measurable residual disease. India has a large biologically diverse population and centres are now able to investigate relevant biological questions in a systematically treated cohort of patients. A few young researchers are emerging who are beginning to ask pertinent questions. However, they are few in number and lack opportunities to interact with international peers, as attending international conferences are cost prohibitive. The goal of this EMBO Workshop is to present cutting edge science and create a forum for young as well as established Indian investigators to discuss, interact and collaborate. This EMBO Workshop will attract the best young minds from India and neighbouring countries to attend and enhance their research potential.
