About the Workshop

Nuclear Receptors (NRs) are ligand-regulated transcription factors that are pivotal in a plethora of physiological processes and disease states. As a consequence, NRs are therapeutic targets for numerous drugs to treat inflammatory, metabolic, and malignant diseases, and a deep knowledge of their function is critical.

NR-research has always been at the forefront of developing innovative technologies to study gene expression and genomic accessibility, and novel techniques are still evolving. Examples are (proximity-ligation-assisted)-ChIP-seq, ChIP-mass-spec, single-cell-RNA-seq, and Cryo-EM, all involving advanced bioinformatics. Furthermore, this research field studies the structure of multi-protein-chromatin complexes and applies sophisticated animal models.

This EMBO Workshop will bring together a diverse group of researchers from different disease areas to share their knowledge. We aim for outstanding and up-and-coming researchers to share biomedical knowledge and general and specific insights that can be applied to a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas, with NRs as the unifying theme.

As stated in the title "Nuclear Receptors: No Disease is Safe."
