About the Workshop

Workshop illustration

The kinetochore is a dynamic proteinaceous structure that connects centromeric chromatin to spindle microtubules and is of fundamental importance for the segregation of chromosomes during mitosis and meiosis. The Dynamic Kinetochore workshop has emerged as a major venue for presenting and discussing the latest unpublished and cutting-edge research in this field. Topics will span different disciplines (from biochemistry, genomics, imaging, and biophysics), and organisms (from trypanosomes to human). The meeting will provide a relaxed atmosphere at a secluded and beautiful location, in order to foster scientific interactions and the exchange of ideas between a diverse and international group of scientists. The meeting aims to promote early-career principal investigators, students and postdocs, but also includes contributions by senior members of the field.

Selection criteria

Selection will be made based on (i) research excellence, (ii) novelty of science, and (iii) relevance to the topic of the meeting. We also encourage the participation of those that have an orthogonal view or use a novel approach that can benefit the field. We aim for a reasonable gender balance that reflects the overall distribution of gender among all applications. All accepted participants will have the opportunity to present their work either in a talk or as a poster. We seek to have a good representation of students and post-doctoral researchers as well as a good representation of the international community. If there are too many equally qualified applicants, we will consider demographics and gender and give priority to junior scientists, postdocs, and young group leaders.

Abstract guidelines

The abstract should be in English and display all authors and their full affiliation, a title, and a short text describing your research. It should not exceed 300 words. Please indicate if you wish to present a talk.

Poster specifications
