About the Workshop

Glycans are regulators of physiologically important signaling pathways. They are built at the Golgi apparatus, where membrane trafficking is expected to play an important role in determining the quantity and quality of the glycans produced. Nevertheless, how membrane trafficking at the Golgi and glycan biosynthesis crosstalk and regulate one another remains under explored.

The goal of the course is to bring together researchers and students working at the interface of membrane trafficking and glycosylation to favour these exchanges. In addition, given the importance of tools and technologies in accelerating research, we have also invited experts in development of novel research tools to encourage them to explore membrane trafficking and glycosylation. Finally, the meeting will also include researchers working with biomedical aspects of glycosylation in the Golgi apparatus.
