About the India-EMBO Lecture Course
Advances in instrumentation and methodology have allowed researchers to identify the functions of nucleic acid beyond their canonical roles as genetic material. The programmability and biocompatibility of nucleic acids have enabled their use in DNA nanotechnology for a variety of biological and medical applications. Despite the enormous progress, there are still unexplored opportunities for the development and implementation of new applications in this exciting field of science.
In the proposed lecture course, we will bring together eminent researchers to learn and share the latest advances in the field of functional nucleic acids, basic principles, and cutting-edge applications in biology, human health, and diseases. The meeting will provide an opportunity for professionals with multidisciplinary backgrounds to review current developments, share ideas and challenges at the interface of chemistry, physics, and biology of nucleic acids therapeutics. This lecture course can thus serve as a powerful support to create a scientific environment that is conducive to interdisciplinary conversations and the exchange of new thoughts by bringing together the world's leading scientists with young researchers. This course will therefore continue to foster interactions and collaborations and encourage a new generation to join and explore the fascinating world of nucleic acid research.
