About the Workshop
This EMBO Workshop will discuss cell fate decisions during the transition from pluripotency to lineage commitment in early development, the interactions of stem cells with their niches during lineage specification, and the spatiotemporal control of cell identity during the differentiation of somatic lineages and the germline. The complex multi-tissue interactions in embryoids and organoids will be discussed as experimental models for the understanding of patterning in the embryo, tissue morphogenesis and organogenesis. Mathematical modelling approaches will address how quantitative physical principles can help understand cell decision making. New insights into regenerative biology will be presented by investigating responses to tissue damage or loss and the developmental kinetics leading to aberrant phenotypes.
The time table with Europe/US time is available here.
This EMBO Workshop was made possible by funding provided by The Company of Biologists.
About EMBO Courses and Workshops
EMBO Courses and Workshops are selected for their excellent scientific quality and timelines, provision of good networking activities for all participants and speaker gender diversity (at least 40% of speakers must be from the underrepresented gender).
Organisers are encouraged to implement measures to make the meeting environmentally more sustainable.
