Registration includes:
- Access to all sessions
- All conference materials
- Welcome buffet
- Coffee breaks, lunches, and finger food during the poster session
- Excursion (dinner not included)
- Farewell dinner
- Organized transport from and to the airport on the 16th and 20th of September (if registered on time)
Excluding accommodation.
Accompanying persons have to be registered if they wish to participate in lunches, dinners, and at the excursion.
Payment
We only accept advance payment by bank transfer. Bank details will be provided upon acceptance for participation. Please make sure that all transaction fees are carried by the sender.
Payment by credit card or cash at the conference is not possible.
Selection criteria
Please note that participants will be selected based on their scientific impact on the conference. It is therefore expected that all participants submit an abstract or, if no poster, short talk or flash talk is to be presented, CV/affiliation (principal investigators) and a motivation letter (students/postdocs), respectively.
Abstract guidelines
Abstracts should include title, authors, affiliations, and summary and be limited to 250 words.
Guidelines:
- Please do not use capital letters in your title.
- Please do not use abbreviations for your affiliation.
- Please list all authors.
Please do not provide references.
Short talks:
Several participants will be selected for short talks from abstracts submitted within the registration deadline.
Flash talks:
Several participants will be selected for flash talks from abstracts submitted within the registration deadline.
Poster specifications
Dimensions of the poster boards are 0.95 m (width) by 1.35 m (height). Poster board stickers will be provided.
Information for abstracts, posters, and short talks
You can edit your abstract and other submission details at any time before the deadline. Selection of participants will be based on abstracts.
Terms and conditions of registration
Notification of cancellation should be made in writing and sent to the conference organizer: embo2020@uni- frankfurt.de
For cancellation before 1 June 2022, an administration fee of €50 will apply.
For cancellation after 1 June 2022, the full registration fee will apply, a refund of the registration fee will not be possible.
Travel grants
A limited number of travel grants are available and are allocated on the basis of the quality of the abstract submitted, with priority given to scientists from the countries listed below. Travel grants may be awarded to participants from anywhere only after qualified applicants from priority countries have been considered. All applicants have to justify the reasons for applying for a travel grant. Priority is given to participants of any nationality working in laboratories in: Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey as well as from lower income economies.
Travel grants may also be provided to participants of any nationality, working in laboratories in Chile, India, Singapore and Taiwan.
Applicants do not need to apply separately for travel grants for this event but should indicate on the registration form if they wish to be considered for a travel grant. Selection of awardees is handled directly by the organizer who will notify all eligible participants. More information is available at EMBO Travel Grants page.
Child care grant
EMBO Courses and Workshops offers grants to offset additional child care costs incurred by participants or speakers when participating at any EMBO Courses and Workshop funded meeting. Eligible costs include fees for a caregiver or child-care facility, travel costs for a caregiver, or travel costs for taking the child to the meeting etc. Please indicate on the registration form whether you would like to be considered for the grant. Please also describe how you intend to use the child care grant and specify the sum that you will need.
