About the Event
This is an intensive, two-week long training course for PhD students delevoping their research projects in the laboratories of EMBO Global and Young Investigators.
The course offers participants opportunities to strengthen personal and professional competencies critical to career success.
During the first week, focus is placed on building skills in communicating science to different target audiences. In dedicated sessions, participants will practice writing abstracts, giving presentations, creating posters, drafting grant proposals, developing interpersonal communication skills. Special sessions will be dedicated to time management and gender in academia.
The second week of training takes place online and covers scientific integrity, peer review of manuscripts and how to apply design principles when creating figures. In the non-academic career fair session, career talks will provide insights into the breadth of career options in academic and non-academic environments.
