About the Workshop

Workshop illustration

Septins, GTP binding proteins that assemble into filaments, are recognized as a unique component of the cytoskeleton. Discovered for their roles in cytokinesis, septins have also been implicated in various cellular processes including membrane dynamics, vesicle trafficking, and host-pathogen interactions. Many new advances have been recently achieved which have greatly improved our understanding of septin function in vivo. This EMBO Workshop will concentrate on recent findings and their impact on human diseases.

About EMBO Courses and Workshops

EMBO Courses and Workshops are selected for their excellent scientific quality and timelines, provision of good networking activities for all participants and speaker gender diversity (at least 40% of speakers must be from the underrepresented gender).

Organisers are encouraged to implement measures to make the meeting environmentally more sustainable.
