About the Workshop
Living systems are intrinsically dynamic as they develop, renew their components, adapt to their physiological environment. This is illustrated for instance in the development of embryos and organs. Understanding biological complexity is one of the most significant challenges for the future. It will impact both basic research and medicine, since diseases emerge from anomalies in the organization and dynamics of living systems. This EMBO workshop aims at bringing together biologists and physicists working on different aspects of biochemical and mechanical signaling. We wish to foster interdisciplinary interactions between scientists focusing on the organization and dynamics of living systems from the molecular to the cellular and tissue scales.
The EMBO workshop will cover various topics: mechanics, cell motility, polarity and cell organization, morphogenesis and growth.
About EMBO Courses and Workshops
EMBO Courses and Workshops are selected for their excellent scientific quality and timelines, provision of good networking activities for all participants and speaker gender diversity (at least 40% of speakers must be from the underrepresented gender).
Organisers are encouraged to implement measures to make the meeting environmentally more sustainable.
